Lonesome Crow was forged in the years of Frank Rizzo and White Flight. As High Schoolers, Ralph Stamler, Andres Villamil, Tom Orritt and Armond Phillips would rehearse in Andres Villamil’s basement honing their sound and occasionally bringing Andres’s mother to tears. They were not only the first local band in Philadelphia to cover songs by bands like The Dead Boys, The Dictators, MC5 but, they were also the first to do an entire set of Ramones songs complete with Pinheads and Gabba Gabba Hey signs. Combining this proto-punk material with their first love of Hard Rock (UFO, The Scorpions, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and the like) seemed natural to them, if only them. Fast Forward to Late 2014 Ralph Stamler and Andres Villamil meet again at a Memorial for Local Punk Pock Legend and High School Class mate, Martel Fein. After a lifetime of not seeing each other, they decide to meet weekly to write songs and otherwise have fun at Andres’s studio. Ralph had moved from being the drummer to being a singer and front man. When they decided they needed guitars and collaborators for the new songs they were writing, who else to call but their Brothers from The Crow of Old, Armond and Tom. Older, wiser and with a world of experience, they are now joined by drummer, Paul Fisher. Together, they bring their undiminished reverence for the music of their youth to the smart, incisive, sometimes self-deprecating original material they are writing now. Lonesome Crow is reborn Lonesome Crow 5 Middle-Aged Men Rolling through a landscape once known as Rock!
